Counter-narcotics police have discovered 18 kg of opium poppy, 6 kg of heroin and one liter of liquid object used in manufacturing heroin outside provincial capital Zaranj, and foiled the attempts to take the contraband out of the province, a local media outlet, Ariana News, cited Faizani on Wednesday as saying.

Police are working to arrest those involved in the illegal drug smuggling operations, the official further said.
