KABUL, July 21 (Xinhua) -- The Afghan interim government has signed an agreement with a Qatari company to facilitate the deployment of Afghan workers to Qatar, said a statement of the interim administration's Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs on Monday.

Under the agreement, the Afghan side will initially send 700 workers, the statement said, adding that the agreement aims to provide job opportunities for Afghan citizens abroad.

Highlighting the agreement, spokesman for the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs Samihullah Ibrahim said that the date for registration of eligible laborers would be announced soon, and the workers should register with genuine companies to escape forgery.

Although there are no official statistics about the number of jobless people in Afghanistan, the rate of unemployment is high in the post-war country, as hundreds of people in search of work reportedly leave their homeland daily.
