Police arrest 2, recover military equipment in Afghanistan's Kunduz

KABUL, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- Police have arrested two persons on charges of selling military equipment in the northern Afghanistan Kunduz province on Monday, a news release of the provincial police office said.

Police discovered two pieces of hand grenades, five projectiles, hundreds of bullets for Kalashnikovs and other military equipment in their possession.

Without providing more details, the news release asserted that the arrested, after preliminary investigations, would be handed over to the judiciary.

The Afghan interim government has vowed to collect arms and ammunition from anyone living outside the security organs.
