KABUL, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- At least four people have been injured as a hand grenade was thrown into a mosque in north Afghanistan's Samangan province Friday, local media reported.

The incident happened while worshippers were offering noon prayers in Aybak city, capital of the province, local media outlet TOLOnews quoted Hashmatullah Rahmani, provincial police spokesman, as saying.

Rahmani said the incident stemmed from personal hostility, and confirmed that the perpetrators of the attack have been taken into custody while further investigations are being conducted.

Recently, several terrorist attacks have occurred in northern Afghanistan and the capital city Kabul.
