Nearly 20 tons of narcotics destroyed in Afghanistan's Helmand

KABUL, May 8 (Xinhua) -- Authorities have destroyed approximately 19,297 kg of illegal narcotics in an anti-drug operation in southern Afghanistan's Helmand province, the provincial police office said on Friday.

According to the statement, the destroyed substances included raw and processed opium, hashish, methamphetamine, chemical acids, and narcotic tablets.
