KABUL, May 6 (Xinhua) -- Five commuters lost their lives and four others sustained injuries as their vehicle plunged into a ravine in Darwaz district of Badakhshan province in northern Afghanistan on Tuesday, provincial police spokesman Ehsanullah Kamgar said Wednesday.

The deadly mishap occurred in the Maymai area on Tuesday evening, leaving five travelers dead at the scene and injuring four others, two in critical condition, the official added.
