Head-on collision kills 1, injures 7 in N. Afghanistan

KABUL, April 14 (Xinhua) -- A driver lost his life and seven others sustained injuries due to a head-on collision in the northern Afghanistan's Samangan province on Tuesday, a news release of the provincial police office confirmed.

A total of 50 cattle were also killed in the accident after a truck collided with a gas tanker coming from the opposite direction on the main road early this morning, the news release asserted.

Blaming reckless driving for the accident, the news release called upon drivers to respect the traffic rules and regulations as part of precautionary measures to avoid road accidents.
