KABUL, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and two others were injured due to a landslide that struck a house in eastern Afghanistan's Kunar province on Wednesday, provincial police said Thursday.
The incident took place in Chapa Dara area on Wednesday morning, provincial police spokesperson Farid Dehqan said, adding that the victims were workers of a precious stone mine.
Heavy snowfall in recent days has increased the risk of avalanches in mountainous areas of Afghanistan, such as Nuristan, Kunar and adjoining areas.
