Gas, coal poisoning hospitalizes over 120 in Ghazni province in 3 days

KABUL, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- More than 120 people have been hospitalized over the past three days due to gas and coal poisoning in eastern Afghanistan's Ghazni province, local media Tolo news reported on Sunday.

Hospital sources said the patients were using gas and coal stoves improperly in enclosed spaces. The report noted that 35 children were among the affected.

Health officials warned that unsafe use of coal and gas stoves in confined areas poses serious health risks. They urged residents to follow proper safety measures when operating heating devices.
