Kabul, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan's Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has issued more than 400,000 work permits over the past four years, the state-run Bakhtar news agency said Saturday.

According to the report, the ministry granted work permits to over 400,000 individuals, including a notable number of women. In addition, more than 150,000 people received vocational and skill-based training during the same period as part of efforts to expand employment opportunities.

The programs aim to regulate the labor market, promote legal employment, and strengthen the workforce by equipping job seekers with practical training, the report added.

Afghanistan has been working to revive its labor sector in recent years, with authorities stressing the importance of skills development aimed at tackling economic challenges and rising demand for stable livelihoods across the country.
