TEHRAN (Tasnim) Ali Mirshekari was named the AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup Thailand 2025s Most Valuable Player after he helped Iran win the title with a commanding 8-1 win against Oman in the final on Sunday.

Irans record-extending fourth title was down to no small part to the contribution made by the impressive Mirshekari, who scored at least once in each of Irans six matches.
Kicking off his campaign with a goal against Indonesia, Mirshekari went on to score a hat-trick against Afghanistan before adding another in the final Group D match against the United Arab Emirates.
In the knockout stage, Mirshekari kept his run going with a hat-trick against Bahrain in the quarter-finals and a brace against Saudi Arabia in the semi-finals before grabbing two more in the final against Oman.
Im incredibly happy to win both awards. Its an emotional win for me because even though this is an individual award, it is a result of the collective effort of the team, Mirshekari said.
I could not have played the way I did if it wasnt for my teammates, he added.
