Afghan gov't says Pakistani attack kills 4, injures 70

KABUL, April 27 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan's deputy government spokesman Hamdullah Fitrat said on social media on Monday that Pakistan shelled eastern Afghanistan's Kunar Province with mortars and rockets earlier in the day, leaving four people dead and 70 others injured.

According to a statement released by Kunar Province authorities, the wounded were transferred to nearby medical facilities for treatment, while the local security situation remained tense.

Local media Tolo News reported that the Luqman-Spin Boldak area in Kandahar province was also attacked by mortar shells.
