PanARMENIAN.Net - Pope Leo XIV sent a message to the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity ceremony, honoring the 2026 laureates - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Afghan human rights activist Zarqa Yaftali. According to Report.az , the pontiff said the winners inspire hope "in a world where walls are often built instead of bridges."

"Today, through the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity, we honor those who transform these values into sincere acts of compassion and charity. By choosing the difficult path of solidarity over indifference, they have shown that even deeply rooted divisions can be overcome through concrete action. Their efforts prove that the light of fraternity can triumph over the darkness of fratricide," Pope Leo's message stated.

On February 4, Prime Minister Pashinyan and President Aliyev received the Zayed Award in Abu Dhabi. Pashinyan emphasized that the award is not just for national leaders but also for the peoples of both countries, who, he said, are sharing in the process of establishing peace.
