Kazakhstan's grain exports up 21 pct since start of current marketing year

ALMATY, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) -- Kazakhstan has exported 5.8 million tonnes of grain since the start of the current marketing year in September 2025, up 1 million tonnes, or 21 percent, from the same period last year, the Ministry of Agriculture reported Tuesday.

Shipments have risen significantly to several key regional markets, according to the ministry.

Exports to Uzbekistan grew by 49 percent, from 1.813 million tonnes to 2.702 million tonnes. Supplies to Kyrgyzstan increased by 72 percent, from 95,000 tonnes to 163,000 tonnes, while shipments to Afghanistan jumped 93 percent, from 216,000 tonnes to 416,000 tonnes, it said.

The ministry maintains its target of exporting 13 million tonnes of grain during the current marketing year.
