KABUL, March 23 (Xinhua) -- One individual has been confirmed dead and another injured due to Pakistan's cross-border attacks in eastern Afghanistan's Kunar province on Sunday, deputy spokesman for the Afghan government Hamdullah Fitrat said Sunday night.

According to the official, the Pakistani artillery's mortar mine struck Shanib area in Nari district on Sunday morning, killing one person and injuring another.

Pakistani artillery also targeted a vehicle in the eastern Paktika's Shakin district but left no casualties, the official asserted.

Afghanistan and Pakistan agreed to have a ceasefire during the three-day Eid al-Fitr holiday.
