Development projects launched in Afghanistan's Farah province

KABUL, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- The Afghan government has launched development and maintenance projects in the western Farah province, the state-run Bakhtar news agency reported Monday.

Valued at 22 million Afghani (over 300,000 U.S. dollars), the projects were financed through the national budget and contributions from partner organizations. Implemented in Chaman district, the projects included the construction of roads, retaining walls and culverts to improve local infrastructure and connectivity.

The projects have created employment opportunities for residents and would enhance the living conditions of thousands of people in the area.

The Afghan government has reiterated its commitment to expand development and infrastructure programs across the country to address economic challenges and generate jobs.
