Highway accidents kill 4, injures 7 in Afghanistan's Laghman province

KABUL, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- At least four commuters were killed and seven others injured in three separate road accidents in eastern Afghanistan's Laghman province, according to a statement from the provincial police office released on Saturday.

The incidents occurred over the past 24 hours in various parts of the province along the highway linking Nangarhar to the capital Kabul, resulting in the deaths of four people, including a woman and a child, and injuries to seven others, the statement said.

Reckless driving was cited as the cause of the accidents, and all the injured have been transferred to Nangarhar's provincial hospital for treatment.

Police officials urged drivers to follow traffic rules and regulations and observe road signs to avoid further highway accidents.
