KABUL, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Work for the construction of a water supply network began in northern Afghanistan's Samangan province, reported the state-owned Bakhtar news agency on Thursday.
Financed by the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, the water supply network, which would cost 31 million afghani (approximately 442,857 U.S. dollars), would benefit 10,500 people upon completion, the media outlet added.
The Afghan interim government, which has launched a variety of small-, medium- and large-scale development projects as part of efforts to provide job opportunities and alleviate poverty, has called upon Afghan and foreign investors to invest in Afghanistan and contribute to the reconstruction process of the post-war nation.
