KABUL, June 15 (Xinhua) -- Four miners have lost their lives after a coalmine tunnel caved in northern Afghanistan's Samangan province, said a statement of the provincial police office on Sunday.

Police with the support of locals discovered the bodies from a coalmine in Dara-i-Sufi Bala district on Saturday night and handed them over to their families, the statement said.

A similar accident claimed seven lives in the neighboring Dara-i-Sufi Payin district of the same province last month.
