KABUL, March 5 (Xinhua) -- A group of 200 Afghan prisoners were set free from holding centers in Pakistan last week and have been brought back to their country, Afghanistan's Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation said on Thursday.

The prisoners, who were kept in several jails across Pakistan on various accusations lasting from one day to two months, re-entered Afghanistan through the Spin Boldak border point in southern Kandahar province, according to the ministry.

Upon arrival, the returnees were given quick aid for their basic needs before being sent to their home areas, the ministry noted.
