Artificial carpet manufacturing factory opens in Balkh Province

KABUL, Dec. 31 (Xinhua) -- An artificial carpet manufacturing factory has been inaugurated in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of northern Afghanistan's Balkh province, with an investment of nearly 1 million U.S. dollars, the official Bakhtar news agency reported on Wednesday.

According to the report, the newly established factory is expected to contribute to local economic development by creating job opportunities and strengthening the manufacturing sector in northern Afghanistan. Equipped with modern machinery, the facility will produce artificial carpets for domestic markets and may also supply products for export.

Local authorities welcomed the investment, describing it as a positive step toward boosting industrial production, encouraging private sector growth, and supporting sustainable economic development in the region.
