KABUL, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Police have dismantled a gang of thieves and arrested 12 members of the criminal band in Afghanistan's northern Samangan province, the country's Ministry of Interior Affairs said Thursday.
Involved in an armed robbery and theft in Samangan and neighboring Baghlan and Balkh provinces, the ring leader had also used 10 teenagers and children under 10 to rob cash, mobile phones and household items, a statement of the ministry posted on its X account said.
The cases of the arrested individuals would be referred to the judiciary after completion of preliminary investigation, the statement added.
