Dispute over land ownership claims 1 life, injures 2 in eastern Afghanistan

KABUL, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- A dispute over a piece of land left one dead and injured two others in Afghanistan's eastern Kapisa province on Monday night, the provincial police office said in a statement on Tuesday.

The clash erupted after members of a family disagreed on the division of a piece of land among brothers in the provincial capital Mahmud-e-Raqi, and one member of the family opened fire, killing one brother on the spot and injuring two others, the statement said.

According to the statement, the killer escaped the scene, and the police have been trying to arrest the culprit and bring him to justice.
