GHAZNI, Afghanistan, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Three commuters have been confirmed dead in a road accident that occurred in Police District 5 of Ghazni city, the provincial capital of Afghanistan's eastern Ghazni province, on Monday, the state-run Bakhtar news agency reported on Tuesday.
The accident occurred on Monday evening when a vehicle collided with a motorbike coming from opposite direction in Police District 5 of Ghazni city, killing three commuters on the spot.
This was the fourth road accident in the country since Sunday. Two more people had been killed and 12 others including women and children injured in separate road accidents in Bamyan, Faryab and Parwan provinces of Afghanistan over the past 48 hours.
Dilapidated roads, reckless driving, and lack of safety measures during travel on battered highways often cause deadly accidents in Afghanistan.
