FRANKFURT, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged down on Thursday, with the benchmark DAX index down 64.92 points, or 0.50 percent, to close at 12,993.71 points.
Global internet technology and financial services provider Wirecard lost 10.56 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by Deutsche Bank and housing association Deutsche Wohnen which lost 2.26 percent and 1.93 percent respectively.
Energy group RWE gained 2.64 percent, becoming the top gainer. Sportswear and equipment maker Adidas and telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom advanced 1.71 percent and 1.32 percent respectively.
Multinational software corporation SAP was the most traded share with a turnover of 196.01 million euros (231.94 million U.S. dollars).
China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, gained 1.22 percent to close at 0.76 euros per share on Thursday.
