Virgin Atlantic looking for cuts

Virgin Atlantic could soon be shedding staff, after an announcement by Sir Richard Branson, who has said the airline will cut its winter services and may also have to chop 600 jobs.
Total capacity for winter 2009/2010 has been forecast to be about 7% lower than last year’s winter service.
Virgin has already decided to cut its daily Heathrow to Chicago service this winter and it will also suspend one of two daily London to Hong Kong flights.
The London based airline is expected to soon start consulting with its 8,500 workers about how job cuts can be instituted in staff areas.  Email this story to a friend
