Construction of commercial center worth over 8 mln USD begins in N. Afghanistan

KABUL, April 22 (Xinhua) -- Construction work has officially begun on a major commercial center in Khwaja Ghar district of northern Afghanistan's Takhar province, with a total investment of 543 million afghanis (about 8.48 million U.S. dollars), the official Bakhtar news agency reported on Wednesday.

The project is expected to boost economic activity in the region by creating new business opportunities, generating employment, and improving access to commercial services for local residents, the report said.

According to the report, the commercial center will include a range of business facilities designed to accommodate traders and small enterprises, aiming to promote trade and enhance market accessibility within the district and surrounding areas.
