Afghan police set ablaze nearly 4 tons illegal drugs

KABUL, March 4 (Xinhua) -- The counter-narcotics police have set on fire nearly 4 tons of narcotics in western Afghanistan's Nimroz province, said the country's Ministry of Interior Affairs in a statement on Wednesday.

"Counter-narcotics police forces have set ablaze more than 3,984 kilograms of various narcotic substances that were discovered and collected over the past year from areas in Nimroz province," the statement posted on the ministry's social media X account said.

The contraband had been seized during a series of operations from across the province and was burned publicly.
