KABUL, March 4 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan's Ministry of Public Health has signed a 9,679,522 U.S. dollars agreement with Marie Stopes International Afghanistan (MSIA) to bolster and expand healthcare services in 19 provinces, the ministry said in a statement late Tuesday.
The five-year pact is projected to deliver primary and specialized medical care to around 600,000 residents in those provinces.
Ministry officials highlighted that the initiative seeks to improve the quality of healthcare provision, increase public access to essential services, and tackle key public health issues.
The project is also anticipated to create job opportunities in various health sectors.
